FUT on the toilet?
It's already known that EA aren't going to be releasing FIFA 14 for the Wii U, but we previously thought it was solely down to the poor showing of FIFA 13.
Update - EA have confirmed in the following statement that FIFA 14 will not launch on Wii U.
"Six months ago FIFA 13 was a launch title on Wii U. Although the game featured FIFA's award-winning HD gameplay and innovative new ways to play, the commercial results were disappointing. We have decided not to develop FIFA 14 on Wii U."
That’s what Eurogamer seem to think…. They've suggested that the absence of Madden on the Wii U this year will mean that there isn’t a FIFA either, and put together a detailed account of EA’s outings (or lack of) on Nintendo’s new-ish hardware.

Crysis 3 failed to launch even though it was built and Battlefield 4 is a no-go because the Frostbite engine doesn't run on the Wii U.
EA have been clear that all of the recent FIFA 14 announcements are only in reference to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, but that other platforms would be announced. That could still include the Wii U, but we'll expect to find out more after the Microsoft announcement.
FIFA 13 did appear on the Wii U, albeit without certain features like first touch control and Ultimate Team, and it was actually pretty fun. It made good use of the hardware and from our early playtests we were pretty positive about it. Commercially however it's a different story. According to VGChartz it's sold a modest 70,000 units since it's launch in November and holds a 69 metacritic, not that that means anything, but those kinds of numbers would make it easy for EA to not bother with a Wii U version of FIFA 14.
The day has finally come, its Wii U launch day in the UK and Europe!
Our American followers have had Nintendo’s latest console for well over a week now and I’m sure have plenty to say about the much criticised graphical performance and the uses of the innovative touchpad. Being able to keep playing on the toilet for one.
Of course a new console launch, wouldn’t be a new console launch without a FIFA title as part of the release line-up so if you did go out and purchase a Wii U, did you get FIFA 13 with it? How does it play? Do you think it’s better than the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC equivalent?
